The new Saint Solitude record is going to be called A Crack in the Snow Mortar.

The title is definitely an example of an idea exposing itself to me before I had any idea of what it meant. I often seem to write context into a word, title, or phrase long after creating its seed. I used to think this was backwards, but I’ve noticed that intent with such things can very easily be lost on people. As a result, I now enjoy interpreting the words just like any listener would.

I mean, does anyone really know what the fuck Robert Plant was talking about when he sang, “I saw a lion, he was standing alone/with a tadpole in a jar?” No! And he probably didn’t either. But I’m sure he’s created a story about it in his mind just like we have.
